Terms of Service

Effective date: 17 October 2026

These Terms govern your use of Briefly, the AI-powered creative planning platform operated by Ryley Burridge, a UK sole trader trading as Briefly.

1. About Briefly

1.1. Briefly is an AI-powered creative planning platform that helps users generate video concepts, marketing hooks, scripts, storyboards, animation directions and related production materials from submitted product information.

1.2. Briefly is operated by Ryley Burridge, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, trading as Briefly.

1.3. References to “Briefly”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Ryley Burridge trading as Briefly.

1.4. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1.5. If you use Briefly on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act on its behalf.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

2.1. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a subscription.

2.2. You must provide accurate account information and maintain the security of your login credentials.

2.3. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account, except where responsibility cannot lawfully be placed on you.

2.4. You must not share account credentials to circumvent subscription limits, provide unauthorised access to third parties or interfere with the platform's security.

2.5. We may suspend or restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security threats, abuse or material breaches of these Terms.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

3.1. Briefly offers a subscription priced at £19 per month, providing an allowance of 15 complete video generations per billing period.

3.2. Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled before the next renewal.

3.3. Subscription payments are processed through Stripe.

3.4. Unused generations expire at the end of the applicable billing period. They do not roll over, accumulate or have a cash value.

3.5. A complete video generation refers to a successfully completed generation workflow producing the principal creative outputs advertised for the subscription, including hooks, scripts and storyboard assets.

3.6. Viewing previously generated projects and downloading existing outputs do not consume additional generations.

3.7. Generation attempts that fail because of a confirmed platform or AI-processing error will not permanently consume a generation allowance. Where a credit has been reserved, it will be restored according to the platform's recovery process.

3.8. Briefly does not charge customers separately for exceeding their allowance. New generations are unavailable once the monthly allowance has been exhausted unless another eligible allowance becomes available.

3.9. Prices, taxes and applicable recurring charges will be displayed before purchase.

3.10. Any subscription price changes will be communicated in advance as required by applicable law. Customers will retain applicable cancellation and statutory rights.

4. Cancellation

4.1. You may cancel your subscription through the available billing-management functionality or by contacting contact@xzecreative.com.

4.2. Ordinary subscription cancellation prevents future renewals.

4.3. Unless a statutory cancellation right or other applicable remedy requires otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.

4.4. Cancelling a subscription does not automatically entitle you to a refund for the remaining subscription period or unused generations.

4.5. Access to previously generated projects following cancellation is subject to the account-access functionality described in the service at the time of purchase.

5. Refunds and Consumer Rights

5.1. No discretionary refunds

All subscription payments are non-refundable except where a refund, cancellation right or other remedy is required by applicable law, or where Briefly expressly agrees otherwise.

This includes requests based solely on:

  • Changing your mind after an applicable statutory cancellation period.
  • Failing to use the available monthly generation allowance.
  • Dissatisfaction with an AI-generated creative direction where the service has been supplied in accordance with the contract.
  • Purchasing a subscription without subsequently using it.
  • Forgetting to cancel before a renewal, except where applicable law provides a right to cancel or obtain a refund.

5.2. Statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or overrides rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

5.3. Initial cancellation period

Consumers purchasing at a distance may have a statutory cancellation period, commonly 14 days from contract formation for relevant service contracts, subject to applicable rules and exceptions.

The availability and consequences of cancellation depend on the legal classification of the services and digital content supplied, the information provided before purchase, and any legally required consent or acknowledgement.

Briefly will not treat the commencement of a generation as automatically removing all statutory cancellation rights.

5.4. Service problems

If Briefly fails to provide services in accordance with applicable law, you may be entitled to a remedy.

Please contact contact@xzecreative.com with details of the problem.

5.5. Refund processing

Where a refund is legally required or approved, it will be processed through an appropriate payment method within the period required by applicable law.

6. AI-Generated Content

6.1. Briefly uses artificial intelligence and third-party technology to generate creative planning materials.

6.2. AI-generated content may contain factual inaccuracies, misleading statements, unexpected visual elements, incorrect representations of software interfaces or other errors.

6.3. Briefly does not guarantee that generated outputs will be unique, accurate, original, suitable for a particular advertising campaign or commercially successful.

6.4. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying generated materials before publication, distribution, client delivery or other commercial use.

6.5. You must independently verify product claims, pricing statements, testimonials, performance claims and other factual assertions contained in generated materials.

6.6. Briefly does not guarantee any particular return on advertising spend, conversion rate, customer acquisition outcome or revenue increase.

6.7. These provisions do not exclude any guarantee, obligation or remedy that applies under mandatory law.

7. User Content and Intellectual Property

7.1. You retain any rights you hold in the logos, screenshots, text, images, documents and other materials you submit to Briefly.

7.2. You confirm that you have the necessary rights, permissions or other lawful basis to submit and authorise processing of those materials.

7.3. You grant Briefly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, process, transmit and otherwise use submitted materials only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure and support the service, including processing by authorised technology providers.

7.4. Briefly does not claim ownership of your underlying brand, product or submitted materials.

7.5. Subject to applicable law, third-party rights and relevant AI-provider terms, you may use generated outputs for personal or commercial purposes, including incorporation into work delivered to your own clients.

7.6. Briefly does not guarantee that generated materials qualify for copyright protection or that exclusive intellectual property rights arise in every output.

7.7. Similar or identical outputs may be generated for other customers.

7.8. You must not represent that you own third-party trademarks, copyrighted materials or other rights merely because those materials appear in an AI-generated output.

7.9. Business customers agree to indemnify Briefly against reasonable losses and third-party claims arising from their unlawful submission or use of materials, to the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to applicable requirements of fairness and reasonableness.

8. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • Use Briefly for unlawful, fraudulent or deliberately deceptive activities.
  • Upload materials that you have no right or lawful basis to process.
  • Upload passwords, payment-card details, sensitive personal information or confidential information that is unnecessary for the requested service.
  • Attempt to access another customer's projects or account.
  • Submit malicious website URLs or attempt to access internal infrastructure.
  • Circumvent generation limits or subscription controls.
  • Interfere with the platform's operation or security.
  • Resell, sublicense or provide unauthorised third-party access to Briefly itself.

You may use outputs commercially, including for client work.

The restriction on resale concerns unauthorised access to the Briefly platform, not legitimate commercial use of generated deliverables.

9. Availability and Third-Party Services

9.1. Briefly depends on third-party infrastructure, payment processors and AI providers.

9.2. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

9.3. Temporary outages, maintenance, provider restrictions or technical interruptions may affect generation functionality.

9.4. We may make reasonable changes to the platform to maintain security, improve functionality or respond to changes in third-party services.

9.5. Briefly is not automatically required to provide compensation for every temporary interruption. However, nothing in these Terms removes remedies required by applicable law or excuses Briefly from its own legally enforceable obligations.

9.6. If a material change adversely affects an existing paid subscription, we will provide any notice, cancellation opportunity or remedy required by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10.2. Nothing in these Terms limits a consumer's mandatory statutory rights or remedies.

10.3. Business customers: Subject to clauses 10.1 and 10.2, and to applicable legal controls on the reasonableness and enforceability of contractual limitations, Briefly's total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the service will be limited to the subscription fees paid by that customer during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10.4. Business customers: To the extent permitted by law, Briefly will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost business opportunities or anticipated commercial results arising from use of the service.

10.5. Customers remain responsible for independently reviewing generated outputs before relying on them for advertising, business decisions or client deliverables.

10.6. These limitations apply only to the extent they are lawful and enforceable in the circumstances.

11. Suspension and Termination

11.1. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, security threats, unlawful activity or serious violations of these Terms.

11.2. Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

11.3. We may terminate an account for a material breach that remains unresolved, or immediately where necessary to address serious security or unlawful conduct.

11.4. Suspension or termination does not remove any statutory refund or other rights that apply.

12. Changes to These Terms

12.1. We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, security requirements or the operation of Briefly.

12.2. We will provide notice of material changes where required.

12.3. Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued statutory rights.

13. Governing Law

13.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory protections applicable to customers in other jurisdictions.

13.2. For business customers, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to applicable law.

13.3. Consumers retain any mandatory rights concerning applicable law and jurisdiction.
